Building a Board that Works Workshop Part I

  • Society for the Blind 1238 S Street Sacramento, CA, 95811 United States (map)

Are you struggling to recruit high caliber, qualified board members?

Is your board development process a year-round operation or a once-a-year mad scramble?

The effectiveness of a nonprofit is directly related to the strength of its board of directors. Yet too many executive directors view board service as something they need to cajole people into doing instead of the honor and opportunity it is. This workshop will help you thoughtfully recruit new board members, orient and engage them, all while keeping your existing members active and involved. You’ll learn how to identify and attract the right people for your board and how to deal with difficult board members. You’ll leave with a clear process to build your board as well as practical strategies and tools that will strengthen your board’s performance and ultimately your organization.
