Are you serving on a nonprofit board worried that you don’t fully understand your responsibilities and liabilities or how to make a meaningful difference?
Many board members never receive an orientation on their roles and responsibilities, leaving the board full of people who want to help but don’t know how and an executive director who doesn’t understand why their board isn’t more engaged. This workshop will help you understand the benefits and avoid the pitfalls of board service. You’ll learn what it means to be a board member, how your role differs from that of staff and how decipher a set of monthly financials. You’ll leave with the knowledge of how to find the right board to contribute your skills, expertise and passion in an effective way that will support and strengthen our community.
